A collaborative response to a motion graphics brief posing the challenge of reducing a widely-known narrative to a 30sec synopsis. Most of the preparatory work had to do with analyzing the text of Orwell's 1984 and extracting the most meaningful fragments to translate visually. We drew inspiration from Soviet propaganda posters and the Russian newspaper ‘Pravda’ (‘Truth’) for design inspiration, as these were particularly representative of the cult of personality in the glorified representations of political leaders.
